Enjoy the arts under the sun or stars with Arts on the Lawn. This ever-evolving program features theatrical performances, puppetry, cinema, dance, music, and performance art in the great outdoors.
This spring, the AMFA’s beloved pink puppet dog Flurffy and his friends will move out of the museum and into the community to launch AMFA’s Arts on the Lawn program. With the new AMFA under renovation, Arts on the Lawn – featuring Flurffy and Friends – can be enjoyed at parks across Little Rock.
This spring, AMFA puppeteers and artists will travel to parks in our community on Saturdays to create engaging mini pop-up performances. These performances will be unique to each location as the puppeteers develop new story lines and build on reactions and ideas from the previous locations.
Throughout March and April, audience members will delight in being part of the action in these surprising and memorable moments as they interact with the puppets and puppeteers, helping to craft the storyline as the performance progresses. The community becomes part of the creation team when ideas sparked during these mini performances are put together to create a brand-new Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Children’s Theatre show, Flurffy and Friends.
