Spring Youth Classes
AMFA offers children a variety of affordable, accessible, and playful educational experiences exploring the visual and performing arts. By attending interactive programs that encourage doing and making and cultivate curiosity in a nurturing learning environment, students foster a love of the arts as they grow into adulthood and beyond.

Spring Break
Spring Break at the Windgate Art School is March 18-22, 2024! Give your budding artist a weeklong experience with the arts by selecting a half-day or full-day option that fits your schedule:
- For a half-day experience, sign your student up for either a morning session (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) or an afternoon session (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.).
- For a full-day experience, sign up for both a morning and afternoon session. Your student will bring their lunch and enjoy a supervised lunch break each day from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

MORNING SESSION: Acting and Improv Games
Explore the basics of creating something from nothing through silly improv games and exercises to build theatre skills while making new friends and building life skills in communication, emotional expression, and teamwork. Tour the AMFA Galleries for inspiration and see a performance of Dragons Love Tacos in the Performing Arts Theatre.

Delve into the masterpieces displayed in the galleries to uncover the stories behind the artists and their creations. In the studio, students will employ art mediums and techniques to craft their own works of art. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to tour the AMFA Galleries and enjoy a performance of Dragons Love Tacos in the Performing Arts Theater.

Experience the art of craft in this weeklong intensive class. Create works in our newly renovated woodworking, clay, and metals studios. This will be a great introduction to a variety of craft mediums that will be sure to spark a newfound interest in these specialized art forms. Tour the AMFA Galleries to see where craft and art meet.

Teen Filmmaking Lab
Presented by AMFA's Partner-Company-in-Residence the Arkansas Cinema Society, this program offers a week-long youth film intensive for students in grades 10-12. Students will learn about all aspects of filmmaking – including two days of pre-production, one day shooting a short film, and two days of post-production – all alongside professional film crew mentors.

After School & Weekends
Spark your child's creativity outside of the classroom! After-school and weekend classes at AMFA are a great way to encourage artistic imagination and growth.

This class will explore the AMFA Galleries, learning about artworks and the artists who made them. Using what they have learned in the galleries, students will return to the studio and create their own works of art.

Making Together
Through Making Together, grown-ups and children of all ages can discover the joy of creating art together with a one-day workshop experience in the Windgate Art School.
One ticket covers the cost of admission for one adult and one child.

Create fairy or frog houses for the garden out of clay and decorate them!
Workshop participants will be contacted to pick up their creations after the firing process has concluded.
